The three-year doctoral (PhD.) study programme is organized in accredited study fields. Doctoral students should both acquaint themselves with the current scientific level of knowledge in the relevant field and, in particular, contribute to legal research in this field by their scientific work and independent creative activity in the field of legal science. The Faculty is an educational institution for doctoral students.

The study programme is based on a credit system and it may be followed in internal or external form. Internal doctoral students are present at the faculty and take part in the academic life, consult with their tutors and publish the results of their scientific and professional work. External doctoral students study on an independent basis, consult with their tutors and publish the results of their scientific and professional work. The standard length of the doctoral programme both in internal and external form is three years.

The details of organization of the doctoral study programme are regulated by the Dean’s Decree on Doctoral Studies.
